Mother's Day slipped your mind? Here are some last minute gift ideas to help you out.
- She's about to be standing on the sidelines cheering you on during the winter sports season. Check out these cool Boonies gumboots we've been lusting after ever since we spotted them on alocal blog. They're available from Outdoorsman Headquarters.
- Don't underestimate the power of breakfast in bed. It doesn't have to be much, but it's the thought that counts. If you're not up to whipping up a full cooked breakfast, most mums would be more than happy with a cuppa and a piece of toast in bed (complete with some peace and quiet to enjoy it).
- Treat her. People come from around the world to visit Rotorua's spas and there's plenty of choice. Check out the Polynesian Spa, Spa at QE or the new Black Swan Day Spa for an extra special treat.
- Get the kids creative and frame one of their paintings or artworks.
- Give her the night off cooking. Head out in the afternoon for a high tea at Princes Gate Hotel or go casual and pick up one of Mistress of Cake's special tarts or chicken pies for dinner. Go to her Facebook page to preorder.
- It's safe to say that wine is pretty popular with most mums we know. Head to Volcanic Hills at Skyline Rotorua to partake in some wine tasting.
- If you've missed the boat on flowers what about a nice plant? Fiddle Leaf Figs are all the rage at the moment - and it'll keep giving far longer than a bunch of flowers. Or if you want something really special, what about a plant that includes your name in it as a sentimental gift.
