Rotorua is one of the locations set to benefit from additional services from ManaBus.com and Nakedbus.com travel providers.
Key changes include the addition of an 11.45am express service between Rotorua and Wellington each day, dropping passengers at their chosen destination in just over 6 hours.
ManaBus.com and nakedbus.com chief executive Sheryll Otway said both companies had been tracking steady patronage increases in the North Island.
"A bus trip, no matter where your destination, means zero stress, a scenic route, and sitting back with room to stretch. When customers choose our fleet the experience is heightened with connectivity through the on-board WIFI and power.
"We've made a call to increase frequency and extend the timetable as we know a comprehensive range of offers is what ultimately matters most to travellers," she said.
ManaBus.com will also introduce a number of new buses to its fleet, signalling a $9 million commitment to the growing market.
The extended timetable includes fares that can be booked up until April 2016, with a number of routes offering both companies' $1 deals for eager voyagers planning itineraries well in advance.
