Missing man's body found after police search of Lake Arapuni

Police have confirmed a man they were searching for at Lake Arapuni today has died.

The man's body was found and recovered by police at the lake, in the Jones River Landing area.

A police spokeswoman said police received a report of a person missing in the water about 8:25pm yesterday.

A search began last night and continued today.

The Police National Dive Squad are expected to arrive later today from Wellington to help with the search.

At 6pm, police confirmed the man's body had been found.
