Rotorua's mayor visited the city's eastern suburbs last night to hear for herself what the noise was like.
Rotorua mayor Steve Chadwick and deputy mayor Dave Donaldson joined Rotorua Lakes council staff and compliance teams last night to observe first-hand noise concerns being raised regarding the Eastside industrial area.
Overnight there were a further 91 noise complaints lodged with the council.
"It was good to join the team
and go out and see for myself the hotspots where the predominant number of these concerns are from and to hear the noise myself," Mrs Chadwick said.
"I found it very inconsistent, but it is obviously a growing concern for the community.
"It is a complex issue and there is not one simple fix."
Mrs Chadwick said she was committed to listening to the community.
