A man alleged to be at the centre of a dramatic police chase through Rotorua has appeared in court.
Jesse Henry Louis Coe, 24, appeared in Rotorua District Court today in relation to yesterday's incident.
He has been charged with driving without regard to circumstances which was dangerous to the public, driving while disqualified, possession of a firearm (.22), presenting a firearm against police, and failing to stop.
Defence lawyer Moana Dorset was assigned to represent Coe but asked the court if she could be removed from the case.
The presiding Justice of the Peace told Coe he would be remanded back into custody.
