The man found injured on the side of a road north of Rotorua had fallen from a vehicle, police have concluded.
A police media spokeswoman said his injuries were not serious and police would not be investigating further.
The 21-year-old local man was found injured near the side of Maniatutu Rd in Pongakawa at the weekend.
The BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was sent to the area after being called in by St John paramedics.
It is understood the man suffered head trauma and due to the time critical nature of his injuries was airlifted back to Rotorua Hospital.
