A man charged with the attempted murder of a Rotorua police officer has appeared in the High Court.
Arch Arthur Bo Harvey, 24, was charged with the attempted murder of a Rotorua police officer after an alleged attack on Te Ngae Rd in Owhata just before midnight on July 20.
Justice Sarah Katz entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. The officer is now out of hospital but has not yet returned to work.
At the request of Crown solicitor Amanda Gordon, Justice Katz suppressed the officer's name as well as the name of a police officer who was a witness. Suppressions will continue until a pre-trial callover on October 11.
A two-week trial has been set down to start on July 9 next year.
