The Rotorua Kartsport Development Trust will open its international circuit in Mamaku on Saturday.
The world-class facility is 20 minutes' drive from Rotorua off State Highway 5, at Off Road NZ, on Amoore Rd, Mamaku.
Kartsport Rotorua secretary Anne Managh said the day was about thanking all who had given their time and money to making the track a reality.
Club racing starts at 9am and there will be a celebrity race at 12.30pm featuring Rotorua Mayor Kevin Winters, MP Todd McClay, radio hosts Andy George and Mark Lawrence, and Kartsport NZ patron Bob Cunningham.
The trust's goal is to have the track approved for top international racing by the end of next year.
