A quartet renowned for its imaginative programming is making a stop in Rotorua on its New Zealand tour.
The New Zealand String Quartet, which is now celebrating its 28th season, will perform at the Sir Howard Morrison Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday, April 21. The concert is presented by the Rotorua Music Federation.
The quartet is also known for its powerful connection with audiences of all kinds and for this tour their programme is expected to resonate with chamber music fans everywhere.
The quartet is Helene Pohl (violin), Donald Armstrong (violin), Gillian Ansell (viola) and Rolf Gjelsten (cello).
There are different programmes for the tour. The Rotorua concert will feature Mozart's String Quartet No.20 in D major, Shostakovich's String Quartet No.3 and Brahms' String Quartet No.3 in B-flat major.
