A local singer is excited to be performing on the GLO Party stage in her hometown, having recently returned from performing in Bahrain.
Stella Maris is in the line-up alongside others which include Vince Harder, the Oneill Twins and Stylus.
Also in the programme for today is GLO Spot Online Buskers Competition winner Katerama Pou, runner-up Tai & Maia - a brother and sister dance duo - and the judge's choice Quad Sticks.
She said it was exciting to be part of a line-up showcasing this talent.
"I'm very excited, especially because it's such an iconic event we have every year."
Stella said she enjoyed the build-up to performing, with finding new songs and rehearsing.
"Then the finale is when you get to perform, interact with people and entertain people," she said.
"The feeling I get from performing is brilliant."
She recommended people head along to the GLO Party - it was going to be fun, and there was a great line-up with lots of raw talent and developed talent making for a great show.
She said it was also a family event and great for all ages.
Stella said it was great to be performing back home, having spent three months in Bahrain as part of the SOS International Band. She returned to Rotorua in October.
She said there were many challenges and adjustments living in a culture where English was not the first language.
"It's something that I think helps shape yourself. As a person I grew a lot."
She said the band played six nights a week and that helped her gain skills as a musician.
However, she said it was great to be home. When you were on the other side of the world it was the little things you missed, like seeing friends on the street or walking to the local store.
"There is so much about our country you really value once you spend time away from here."
