Just what is going on in New Zealand? Myself and many others have complained often about the tax on food. This is an abomination.

We are supposed to be a wealthy and charitable country; people all over the world are desperate to come and live here and yet we have greedy people treating homes as commodities; more people sleeping on the streets than in the hotels. We have supermarkets throwing out perishable goods. We are selling citizenships and farms to outsiders while we allow non-residents to buy property.

We allow livestock to pollute our water and sell off the good water to foreigners to bottle and export. We allow dangerous drivers onto our roads to kill our citizens. We have children going to school barefoot and hungry, then insist they wear a costly uniform.

I used to believe that the UK needed a revolution. Now I know for sure, we do!

Great reading the Rotorua Daily Post, genuine variety of articles.

What about Easter trading? Well, if people don't care about celebrating the saviour of the world's final act of salvation, let them work, I guess.

I'll expect banks to be open though, all hospital and Lakes Council offices to be fully manned (personned?), Todd McClay and all the other pollies and ancillary staff to be present and on Parliamentary TV. All commercial offices to be open, schools to open and all children and teachers to be attending.

"Ahh, but it's a holiday!" you say.

Well, ducky, if it's a holiday, why do all the shop staff have to work? It's either a holiday or it isn't.

Really the question isn't "Easter Trading" it's "Can some citizens be forced to work despite their employment contracts stating they don't have to, on certain public holidays?"

The central inequity of it is apparent when you state the case properly.
