It could be time for 'influencers', whomever they are, to get involved.
If the naysayers want to persist they might be interested in shifting to Raoul Island or somewhere else remote.

Everyone must do their share
In Rotorua, despite the lack of virus cases, we are still badly affected by the current level 2 lockdown, in my view.
We are still unable to attend the majority of the club activities held in various venues around the town.
Much of the extended lockdown comes from the fact that still too many local people are not vaccinated.
This is a shame, so many should be inconvenienced by so few is a pity.
I have been vaccinated as have many of my fellow club members, I see no sign of any ill effects, we are happy and healthy as a result of the vaccinations and just cannot understand the apathy being shown by those who are still reluctant to get the 'jab'.
If you wish to get back to an almost normal level 1 then come on, get jabbed, it is painless and harmless.
Do your share for the community!

No need to say sorry
Regarding the tourism boss saying sorry for comments about Rotorua's accommodation issues creating an opportunity for Tauranga. (News, October 7).
Why should he apologise for something that is absolutely true - the truth does hurt sometimes but it also opens your eyes to the situation.
There are no friends in business and every businessman knows that you take advantage of any situation that puts your competitors at a disadvantage.
Rotorua has taken the quick dollar approach to this pandemic, in my view.
It will be interesting to see if it can be pulled back to the way it was before the pandemic.
So three cheers to him.
