This seems to me NZTA's idea of road safety and instead of resurfacing the road to give a suitable grip ratio, it pulls this type of thing instead. It also keeps putting up barriers in the wrong places instead of locations that need more protection.
The latest giggle is that authorities want to limit the Napier-Taupo road to 80km/h.
If there is a problem with this road it gets back to stupid drivers and slippery surfaces. The NZTA can't do much for stupid drivers but it can sort out the road problems.
People have to be responsible for their own actions.

Damaged wheelie bins
Is Rotorua Lakes Council keeping statistics on the damage being done to wheelie bins when they are emptied?
Recently, my rubbish bin was dumped on my concrete driveway resulting in pieces of plastic being broken off.
In the past, my pristine recycle bin had its lid cracked in half. I found it lying on the grass berm. I have no rational explanation for how that happened.
As a ratepayer, I am wondering who is being hit in the pocket.

Dangerous
I see a cyclist is concerned about people parking in cycle lanes.
What about cyclists three abreast on narrow roads and I see one cyclist regularly with a small child in a home-made carry seat behind him.
How dangerous is that?
