I would like to commend the council on having speed humps put in Kawaha Point Rd.
The reason I say this is because for years, as a resident of that street, I have put up with drivers overtaking me, following really closely, beeping at me, and giving me rude gestures - all because I am doing the speed limit of 50km/h.
I don't have to worry about any of that now because people are driving as they should: at 50 km/h or less.
The council informed us that the average speed had been measured at 60km/h with 15 per cent of traffic travelling above 66km/h.
So, thank you again for the speed humps.

Speed bumps hugely inconvenient
We live very near the end of Kawaha Point Rd, on Koutu Rd, and believe me we received nothing from Rotorua Lakes Council in November last year, which is when deputy chief executive, infrastructure and environment, Stavros Michael says local residents were advised.
These speed bumps are hugely inconvenient.

Thank you to hospital staff
As an old resident of Rotorua, I have just spent 11 nights in Rotorua Hospital and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone there.
The care I received was brilliant. The nurses smiled at all times of the day and night. I was not eating but the meals looked good. From the ambulance staff who took me into the emergency department to the man who wheeled me out, I thank you all.
I hope you get better conditions soon.
