Dreaming
It may well be a desire to distance ourselves from the reality of Covid-19 but there appears to be an awful lot of governmental dreaming lately.
A dream to be predator-free by 2050, a dream to be petrol and diesel-free by 2035, a dream to have the waterways free of effluent, a dream to have enough houses for the homeless and just ordinary folk who cannot afford one.
A dream to have a rail structure to allow people to get to work without using cars, a dream to remove all guns from private citizens (and, presumably, allow the villains to keep theirs), a dream to have safe roads, a dream to fill the country with tourists.
A dream to extract money from over rich tycoons without upsetting them. The list of dreams is endless. Maybe it is time for a reality wake-up call?

Provide for all ethnicities
I am following this discussion regarding Māori wards on local body councils.
Given Captain Hobson's proclamation after Te Tiriti's signing in 1840, "We are one people," is it necessary to separate us now?
If it is necessary, and now we are a multicultural society, should we not provide for all ethnicities and have separate wards for the following people: Māori, Indians, Asians, Pakeha, others, and of course, LGBTQ+? They are all community members.
I am sure that someone will correct me if I am wrong.
