In my opinion, it is a case of loose lips and grandstanding by Reynold Macpherson (Call to abandon vanity projects, News, March 20).
There is a time and place for this sort of stuff to be played out in and it's not the media.
But I also agree with the
Lakefront project being canned. What's the point in spending all this money when there are no tourists to enjoy it? And make no mistake, it is for tourists to enjoy not locals.
The sewerage reticulation scheme should not be delayed nor should the skateboard park, cycleways and bilingual signage.
When something like this happens you go back to the basics and look after your own.
The people of Rotorua are your own, so don't desert them council.
