Not a cone, a shovel, a digger, nothing that would herald future road improvement, and worse, no open road sign either.
My question is: Do these people just choose to frustrate, anger or just play at traffic control to satisfy some deep inner need?
Please don't provoke road rage, crying wolf so regularly that we ignore your attempts to keep us safe.

Gross infringement
Further to the article of May 22, Reynold Macpherson is a duly elected councillor, he has a rightful place in the council, and he has the right to ask questions and have them answered.
That is the role of a councillor - to represent the people who elected him and to perform, to the best of his ability, the tasks needed to give value for money to the people who put him into office.
To impede Macpherson's activities while he operates within this office is, in my opinion, a gross infringement of his rights and the rights of the ratepayers who elected him.

No excuse to abuse kids
It was disturbingly frightening to read the appalling treatment of three children in the care of their father (News, May 28).
What a heart-breaking life for these children and what deranged person could hurt little, defenceless kids.
In a modern wealthy country like New Zealand, where there is so much assistance and help for young families, there is no excuse to abuse kids and can only figure this person was trying to break and control them.
We can only hope that this man never ever has the chance to be in charge of children for the rest of his life.
