Quite a few residents of Tauranga commute to Rotorua and vice versa, so Rotorua being included in this rail service would make sense.
It would also make a great "scenic rail" for the Bay of Plenty.

Climate change
I loved Rachel Stewart's view on climate change denial (Opinion, April 3).
I'm listening.
I'm listening on behalf of my three darling little grandchildren. At 66 years old I am sick with worry about their futures. Sadly I am too old and tired to become a politician. With our local council seemingly more interested in expensive sculptures and lakefront makeovers, I feel so disempowered. Admittedly we don't have a seashore, but we have flooding and drought.
Come on young people, step up and run for council. The future is about you.
