This should be put into our New Zeland constitution - and set in stone.
Every man, woman and child - citizens of this country - should have the right to a roof over their heads, a home!
It should also be unlawful; for anyone to own more than one home;this should be the responsibility of either the local councils or the government.
A house is a home - NOT a commodity; it should be the responsibility of the government of New Zealand to guarantee that fact.
A wealthy country like ours should have no people living rough on the streets, or sleeping in cars; neither should anyone be forced to spend half, or more, of their wages to put a roof over their heads. This is extortion and should be illegal.
There was no sign to say road closed at the lake end where Whare Aroha is.
Also who has ruined the lovely painting on the Lakefront toilets and made such a mess of them? I hope this person or persons get caught and have to repaint with a toothbrush for as long as it takes/

How many on big bucks?
In the Rotorua Daily Post May 22, we were told that there were 60 staff earning less than the living wage. What we weren't told was how many staff earn over $100,000. One can only wonder.
