I commend Jackie Evans (Letters, October 27) on her proposal but I am somewhat lost as to what happens when the first motel is filled. Is another one purchased to serve the same purpose and once that one is full is another one purchased and so on until all the homeless in Rotorua are accommodated?

So now the mayor wants a mini cloak to symbolise her partnership with Te Arawa. Fair enough, providing she balances her ensemble with items that symbolise relationships with the other main groups that make up our community.
The forestry sector could convert the top part of the 2015 aluminium Christmas tree into an aluminium helmet. The farming sector could donate high-heeled gumboots to commemorate their 18% rates rise proposed in 2014. The tourism sector, in an exclusive collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, could offer a fire-proof twin-set-and-pearls in Corporate Welfare Green. The manufacturing sector could convert the rest of the Christmas tree into a hearing trumpet to improve the quality of consultations. The services sector could donate an overcoat of professional development training to counter the trends seen in the Community Satisfaction Surveys.
