I am alarmed at the idea of cutting the pay of workers providing the core services of waste water, roads and reserves. Who had the brainwave that the workers can be hired out on a commercial basis? They are employed to provide services to the people of the Rotorua district, not as a provider of revenue for the council. Has the chief executive and other council staff taken a cut because of the increase in debt level and the over-run of costs on projects such as the introduction of wheelie bins? The council are happy to increase staff numbers with all sorts of new titles, it is time to cut executive staff and thereby help reduce the debt level. Come on council, get real and leave the people who do the work alone.

I would like to extend praise to the council and Infracore employees on the makeover
they've given Kuirau Park. It has now become a beautiful sanctuary with the creative use of landscaping, plantings and design structures. The only minor suggestion I could make would be to add a couple more of the neat timber picnic tables and seats, so more people can enjoy this wonderful haven of inner-city Rotorua. Well done to the masters of this masterpiece, giving credit when credit is due.

If all the Rotorua Boys' High School students did was to run around a playing field in their undies, I can't understand what all the fuss is about. I am sure the Year 7 and 8 girl students at John Paul College have seen considerably more than that merely watching television these days.
I say - just ignore the silly billies and treat them like the pranksters they are.
