There appear to be some inconsistencies around our application of hate speech.
After watching TV shows, movies, the radio and people in real life, I hear the constant use of the name Jesus Christ used as an expletive. People who believe in Jesus are routinely accused of all sorts of dreadful things and I never hear any defence or balanced discussion about it.
While there are constant appeals to respect the feelings of women, members of eastern religions and tribal affiliates, apparently people who worship Jesus Christ don't count.
Jesus told his followers to "turn the other cheek", but this matter of "hate speech" is becoming a form of institutionalised persecution of followers of Christ. Imagine if everybody used the name of Mahomet as an expletive? What would happen?
