Letters: Election outcome needs to be accepted

In his letter of December 14, Reynold Macpherson claimed that RDRR-endorsed candidates nearly won power at the recent election.

In my opinion this is another example of his desperate efforts since the election to put a positive spin on the results. For someone who for many months accused the council of spin doctoring, I believe this is very hypocritical.

No amount of manipulation of the voting numbers can hide the simple fact that a majority of Rotorua voters rejected his brand of negative politics.

As an ardent supporter of the democratic process, perhaps he needs to accept its outcomes.

Nothing in life that lasts starts off big - acorns to oaks etc.

Peace on Earth will never start off with every nation laying down its arms; it will start slowly and steadily when we all learn to turn to the ones who offend us the most and hold out our hand.

Hate brings nothing but pain to the haters; envy is a wasted emotion; the greedy finish up with nothing - as do the rest of us. Only love and friendship last the course.

Unspoken words of affection go with you to that resting place to which we are all headed.

The only things in life you will regret are the things you haven't done; go now and hold out your hand - one day it will be too late.
