This challenge has helped my daughter and I define what's really important in life - and it's not food.
We've decided it's the simple things, like love and health, family and friends, smiles and play.
Until now food was just about enjoyment for me. It was about choices, variety and abundance - not survival.
But I've realised now, after five days of hunger, that extravagant meals aren't a necessity, but a luxury. Anything more than survival is a luxury.
In fact, when it comes to survival often some of the expensive foods have hardly any goodness and are a waste of money. Give me a bag of rice over a can of coke any day.
