Rotorua Intermediate has selected this year's recipients for the school's Maori leadership group.

They are Luke Dorset, Te Paea Waetford Heketa, Adanyah Gage, Tyreece Herewini, Bradley Raharuhi, Aimee Whata and Pirihira Taupe.

Kahui Rangatahi was developed to foster the aspirations of Maori students and improve Maori achievement through active mentoring roles and role modelling.

Some of the responsibilities for this group include promoting Matariki, Te Reo Maori week and supporting whanau groups with the school haka and waiata.

The representatives were selected after much deliberation and discussion, and were presented at a recent school assembly.
