Indoor bowls: Porter retains Rotorua title

Robin Porter claimed consecutive titles.

Lake Taupo Club's Robin Porter has won the Rotorua Indoor Bowls Queen's Birthday Singles for the second year in a row.

At the Sportsdrome on Saturday he beat Richard Caddy, Waikato, in the final 10-4.

This was a great build up for the National Championships that start next Saturday at Mount Maunganui.

Third equal were Alex Reed, Auckland, and Teri Anderson, Waikato.

Auckland's Alex Reed and Colin Williams won the Rotorua Queen's Birthday Pairs on Sunday.

They beat North Island team captain Grant Harvey who was paired with Dale Rayner playing from North Taranaki 7-5.

The Plate Event for non-qualifiers was won by Mark and Kaitlyn Hastie.

Two Tauranga teams fought out the final of the Westbrook Club's Queens Birthday Fours on Monday.

Wayne Baker, Keith Setter, Geoff Coughey and Annelies Baker beat Don Harris, Debbie Reed, Glenda Walker and Alison Cowan 13-6 in the final.

Equal third were Alex Reed, Colin Walker and Bevan Coleman.
