Fire has gutted a house in Sala St early this morning.

A house in Sala St has been gutted by an early morning fire.

The Rotorua Fire Brigade arrived at the Sala St property at 3.30am.

Northern Fire Communications shift manager Scott Osmond said the fire was well involved by the time the two trucks arrived at the scene.

He said all occupants of the house escaped uninjured.

Mr Osmond said it took them an hour for the crew to have the fire under control and they left the scene at 7.30am.
