SEE IT: Described as a cross between Apocalypto, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Braveheart, new movie The Dead Lands is making a big impact here and worldwide. Set in pre-European New Zealand, and entirely in te reo Maori, the film follows a Maori chieftain's son, who aims to avenge his father's murder. On now at Reading Cinemas Rotorua.
HEAR IT: If you're a fan chances are you're already all over Taylor Swift's new album 1989. If you're not a fan you could well become one if you give it a spin. Catchy first single Shake It Off isn't even the best song here, as the former country singer well and truly enters pop territory. It even seems a bit of BFF Lorde is rubbing off on Swift, especially on the dark, 80s-tinged electro-pop track Out of the Woods.

READ IT: Timing is everything. As news of Ebola dominates headlines worldwide, Fredrik T Olsson's debut novel Chain of Events is a scary look at a world of secret organisations, complex codes, a rampant virus, mind-blowing revelations and compelling characters unwittingly caught up in it all. Part thriller, part sci-fi, the book should appeal to fans of Dan Brown.
WATCH IT: Aren't we Kiwis funny. We're more worried about whether US media will report even a mention of the All Blacks being in Chicago than the game itself. Tomorrow morning all that will matter will be what's happening on the field (hopefully no injuries!) as New Zealand take on the United States. Check it out on Sky Sports from 8.30am - kick-off is 9am NZT.
