Rangitauira said having a full squad available for the rest of the season would give them a good chance of making the play-offs.
"At the start of the season we weren't doing so well, but from now on we still have a chance of making the top four."
Rangitauira said they played well on Saturday but still had room to improve. The Aces were 4-0 up on Saturday and leaked two goals towards the end.
"It was good, the first three-quarters was really good but it died off towards the end," Rangitauira said.
"We have high standards and we want to be competing for the whole 60 minutes."
The Aces stand-out player on Saturday was Tuterangi Raharuhi, who scored a brace and helped set up another goal.
Rotorua's only other team competing in the Midlands men's competition, the Bay of Plenty Indians, also played at home on Saturday at Smallbone Park.
The Indians registered their first win of the season with an impressive 2-1 victory over Mount Maunganui.
Player and coach Karandeep Lall said it was a long time coming and they had played quite a few close matches this year, including two draws.
The Indians went 1-0 up in the first half before the Mount hit back in the second half to make it 1-1.
Indians player Mirwair Singh scored the winner after some nice one-twos. Lall said their keeper also made some great saves to help them keep the lead.
He said they hoped to carry on and get some more wins now.
"We would like to get into the top half of the pool."
The Indians now have a record of one win, two draws and five losses this season, while the Aces have a record of three wins and four losses.
