Youth co-organiser and Youth Council member Olivia Temm, 16, said they had started planning for the festival in July.
She said there would be stalls and games to engage youth, along with the hip hop competition.
Youth Centre representative Kassara Boaza said there would be service providers with stalls showcasing what they had to offer youth.
"They're showing what is on offer for youth and how they can be engaged in their spare time and for future study career choices."
She said Youth Hub navigators would be there to sign more youth on to the online platform and let people know more about what they do.
The BBoy dance competition was being run by the Rotorua Floor Finesse Force group and is their fourth year running.
Those interested can enter on the day or register by calling the Youth Centre on (07) 343 1012.
Rotorua Youth Centre event coordinator Veena Kameta said she hoped the festival would become an annual event.
"I think people should come check it out and see how we are evolving.
"We want to put Rotorua on the map for our youth."
