A Rotorua highway was closed for three hours as police mapped the scene of a recent fatal crash.
A section of State Highway 36/Ngongotaha Rd at Ngongotaha was closed from about 10am until 1pm yesterday while police carried out an investigation into the crash.
Steven Ioane, a 30-year-old Rotorua man, died from head injuries sustained when his motorcycle and a truck collided on Ngongotaha Rd at 5.45am on March 2.
Officer in charge of Rotorua road policing, Senior Sergeant Nicky Riordan, said it was a planned closure with Higgins traffic management in order for crash analysts to map the scene of the crash. "Scene mapping is done as part of the investigation into the crash."
The investigation was ongoing and no decision regarding charges has been made.
