A group of Rotorua dancers who are set to perform at Disneyland have raised almost $2000 towards their trip, thanks to a special fund-raising ball.
Madelyn Skilton organised the ball at the Rotorua Museum recently as a way to raise money needed for the trip, which will take place in April.
The trip is expected to cost each of the 19 dancers about $5000 and the group have been fund-raising for the past six months.
Madelyn said the ball had special meaning as it gave those who were home schooled, like her, the chance to go through the ball experience.
About 70 people attended the ball and Madelyn said being able to hold it at the museum was particularly special.
