There was a surprise for Harcourts Dancing with the Stars contestants at the latest practice with the dancing couples being revealed.
The event will be held on Saturday August 5, at the Energy Events Centre and is a fundraiser for Rotorua Community Hospice.
Dance teacher and choreographer Shelley Martin saidshe felt a sense of relief the dancers were partnered up, as there was the pressure of getting it right.
Mrs Martin said she was looking forward to watching the couples grow in their relationships and dancing capability and compatibility.
She said every couple would bring their own skills, and would have their own unique style.
She said Mrs Martin's selection process was extremely thorough - taking into account age, height, personalities and technique to bring the best out of each competitor.
"Last year's competitors set the bar extremely high, but we are very confident that this year's group have that same commitment to the event and the cause."
Those keen to take part in this year's event can show off their moves at the public auditions on April 22.
The auditions will be held from 11am at the Novotel Rotorua. People need to register first with registration forms available from the Rotorua Daily Post, Smith City or www.rotoruahospice.co.nz.
