Rotorua's Emmett Leach said he went to the show every year.
"I think this is probably the best year of all that I've seen."
He said the show was set out better and there were more options than previous years.
Mr Leach said he liked going to the show to keep up to date with the latest home improvements and the food section was his favourite.
Rotorua's Clare Slater said it was fun to see what was new and on offer.
She had bought several things, including a stoneline pan which she had always wanted, she said.
Ms Slater said her daughter Chloe Slater, 6, was also having a good time.
"It's really nice they are considering young kids."
She said Chloe had got a worm from the Rainbow Springs stand, where you acted like a Kiwi to dig for worms.
"She is having fun which is really cool, otherwise it would be a difficult time for me."
She said a glass cabinet where you guessed how much money was floating around was "quite different" and engaging.
"We saw it from far away and wondered what was blowing up, and it was actually cash."
Volcanic Hills Winery co-owner and winemaker Brent Park said the show always worked well for his business and reinforced being a part of the community.
Mr Park said it was important Rotorua businesses got behind the event so local produce could be brought into one place where people could see it.
The show is on from 10am to 5pm tomorrow, and from 10am till 4pm on Sunday.
The cost is $5 per adult and free for under-12s.
