Rotorua golfer Danny Lee has fallen just short of winning back-to-back titles on the PGA Tour.
A week after claiming his maiden win on the PGA Tour, Lee has produced another brilliant display at the latest tour event in llinois at the John Deere Classic.
Unfortunately for Lee, he was penalised one shot on the fourth hole today, during his final round, for illegally picking up his ball on the fairway.
He recovered well though and grabbed a share of the lead, at 20-under, going into the final hole. A par would have been enough to put him into a playoff with leaders Jordan Spieth (US) and Tom Gillis (US), but he bogeyed the final hole after missing the green on his second shot on the par-four 18th.
He finished in a share for third at 19-under for the tournament (68, 68, 62 and 67).
