A 12-year-old was flown to Rotorua Hospital after breaking her arm while water skiing.
The Rotorua-based BayTrust Rescue Helicopter flew to Lake Tarawera today after the Tauranga girl was injured while water skiing near the Hot Water Beach area on the lake.
Pilot Barry Vincent said because of the nature of the injury and the location, the rescue helicopter was needed to treat her and then fly her to Rotorua Hospital.
She was in a comfortable condition in hospital.
