"We have to take our time and be prepared to change tactics if we don't seem to be getting a way through.
"But we have to be wary that they will pose some threat up front and could catch us on the break."
Ngongotaha beat Melville United 2-1 away last weekend and have only dropped two points in the league this season.
Katikati FC look to bounce back from last weekend's 1-0 home defeat to fourth placed Otumoetai FC after picking up points in all three of their previous fixtures.
"We can't take anything for granted. A lot is at stake for both sides and Katikati seem to have improved a lot since we last played them," Haua said.
"We may have to throw everything in attack to get a goal but we are ready for the challenge."
The Villagers will be without injured midfielder Josh Haua but are bolstered with the return of centre-midfielder Yamil Casas.
Ngongotaha lead the table on 34 points after 12 games with a six point cushion over second placed Matamata Swifts who suffered a surprise defeat against league strugglers Old Blue Prem.
"It gives us a bit of breathing space at the top," said Haua.
"But we can't be complacent. A couple of bad results could turn everything upside down for us so we are just focusing on one game at a time.
"Our strength this season has been because we have all come together as one. There are no individuals in the side.
"Everybody is eager to get on the pitch and we want to play for one another."
Elsewhere, sixth placed Rotorua United are aiming for back-to-back wins in the Premiership when they travel to take on bottom of the table Tauranga City.
United go into the clash full of confidence after beating Tauranga Boys' College 1st XI 4-1 away last Saturday - their first win in eight matches.
Manager Ian Walker is confident his side will put on a dominant display and hopes newly appointed striker Ash Gower Rudman, who scored a hat-trick in their last game, will be in similar lethal form.
"The boys are hungry for results and we have a great opportunity to show how clinical we can be," he said.
"Ash put in a fantastic performance. He has been solid in our defence but I thought we should try him up there.
"He played with great composure and after showing that skill he'll be staying in that position, hopefully finding the back of the net for us."
