The Villagers won away at Hukanui Rototuna last weekend despite resting half of the first team. Waller, who is standing in for coach Shayne Davis, said he wouldn't know for sure who would start Sunday's game as they're dependent on recovery.
He said spectators would be in for a good game of football and that Melville should not expect a walkover.
"Anyone who comes to Stembridge Rd isn't going to be in for an easy game. We had a good win last week, it was a heartfelt game. We rested six or seven players so they'll be back fighting for a place for this weekend.
"Hopefully we can beat Melville. We lost to their so-called third team - but we didn't turn up then but we can go to places like Hibiscus Coast and give them a game."
Enjoy the match, urges Bartlett
Former Rotorua City player/coach Kerry Bartlett wants Ngongotaha's team to "enjoy" the Chatham Cup match tomorrow.
He still has fond memories of the 1989 cup run.
"Don't worry too much about your opponents," he said.
"Play as you normally play and you will get on with it. It's good to see Ngongotaha back up there. I wish them luck - you've got to enjoy it."
He said despite moving back to Hawke's Bay 15 years ago he still enjoyed hearing of football successes in Rotorua and would be waiting to hear how they get on in tomorrow's game.
"I'm pleased Ngongotaha have done well. If they get to the next round that will be even better."
Bartlett still plays football with First Division Taradale and coaches the New Zealand Masters team.
