Ngongotaha will finish in fourth place on the Federation One ladder after defeating Waikato Unicol 3-2 in their final game of the season.

Ngongotaha were seeking their third win on end as they hosted Waikato Unicol at Stembridge Rd.

The win marks a great finish to the season for the local club, after going through a mid-season slump in the Waibop Federation One competition.

Barring a miracle from Otumoetai next weekend, Ngongotaha are guaranteed fourth spot, the same position they finished last year.

Ngongotaha's goal scorers were Jordyn McKay, Josh O'Sullivan and Zak Haua while Gavin Clark scored a brace for Waikato Unicol.

This year's highlight for Ngongotaha was progressing to the top 16 clubs in the country in the Chatham Cup, before falling to Melville United's first team 2-1 in Rotorua.

Tauranga's AFC Fury had little trouble in securing the overall Federation One title this year, their second title in as many years.

Meanwhile, Melville and Tauranga Boys' College finished at the bottom of the 12-team table and will be relegated next year.
