Ngongotaha AFC have been drawn against South Auckland Rangers in the second round of the Chatham Cup.

The first round of the knockout competition was played last weekend and saw Ngongotaha progress after defeating Pukekohe 4-3.

In an interesting twist, South Auckland Rangers defeated Rotorua United 4-3 last weekend and they will return to the city to face Ngongotaha on Monday June 2.

If Ngongotaha win the match during Queen's Birthday Weekend they will progress to the top 32.

This would be a great achievement for the Rotorua side. The long-standing competition has been running for 91 years and is the most prestigious club trophy in New Zealand football.

Meanwhile, in the Waibop Federation One competition, Ngongotaha will face off against top-of-the-table side Tauranga City United tomorrow.

Tauranga City have won all six of their matches this season but will have their hands full when they host fourth-placed Ngongotaha.

If Ngongotaha win they could move up into third place in the tough competition.

Rotorua United will look to continue their good form in the Waibop Federation Two competition when they play Tauranga City United's Fed Two team.

Rotorua United have played four and won four in the second-tier competition.

The club is looking to gain promotion back into the Federation One competition this year.

Ngongotaha's reserve team will host Papamoa tomorrow in the same competition.
