Flourishing Families' services are targeted toward parents who have had a baby in the past year, who are experiencing emotional distress or difficulty in adjusting to being a parent.
Access to their service is through referral from another agency or by self-referral.
They offer a range of services, including group and individual sessions for mothers and fathers, the most well-known being 'Mother Matters' - a 10 week course around maternal well-being, adjustment to motherhood, and identifying and responding to children's needs.
"It's bringing people together in a safe and supportive environment."
The service is funded by the Lakes District Health Board, so is free for people to access, and they only support adult parents.
Tina says the service is important because it is common for people to struggle with their mental health after having a baby and most of it is invisible.
"It's normal to have some issues with how you are feeling. It's not normal to have that most of the time."
She says they want people to be aware these things can happen and to anyone.
Tina says there is also a stigma when a person is struggling with health and wellbeing, and that there are myths such as that they do not love their baby or will harm them, which is not always the case, and so often people do not speak out.
Flourishing Families service support worker Nicola Green says the fun day is a nice way to celebrate the service.
"Tina puts in a lot of work and goes above and beyond the scope of her funding. It's nice to take a day to enjoy and come together like that."
She says everyone is at the service for different reason - "it's an invaluable service to me and I feel very passionate about helping mums".
