Firefighters were called to put out a car fire on Te Ngae Rd, near Pohutakawa Drive, this morning.
A Fire and Emergency spokesman said the fire was reported about 4.45am and was "well alight" when they arrived.
The fire was extinguished but the vehicle sustained a lot of damage. No people or surrounding properties were at any risk, he said.
