Fire crews spent hours battling a large fire at the Kinleith Mill in Tokoroa overnight.
Four fire crews, two from Tokoroa, one from Rotorua and another from Putaruru were called to the fire at the pulp and paper mill, owned by Carter Holt Harvey, about 1.10am.
The fire was believed to have started in a kiln that was filled with timber.
Northern Fire Service communications shift manager Steve Smith said no one was injured in the fire and the fire had mostly been contained to the kiln.
He said fire crews had worked for hours during the night, before it was put out after 4pm.
