They kept jamming all year, and slowly new members came in and left, and now Feels Soul Good is who it is.
Renee went to the One Love festival in Tauranga last weekend, where Walker performed.
"I'm a live music fanatic, I'm crazy about it. I saw him there and he was amazing. Then I saw Herbs band members walking around."
She says to be performing on the same stage as those performers was great.
Renee says over the years the seafood festival's reputation has grown and grown.
"It's becoming the event people are talking about leading up to Christmas."
Renee says it is awesome to be able to bring the band's music to the stage and she is excited to perform some of their originals.
She says the band had a viral video over the holidays with the song Crazy Life, which will be on the set list tomorrow.
Vocalist and songwriter Ra Apanui is also looking forward to being on the same stage as Walker and Herbs.
She says they want to put on a great show for those attending.
"We are a very hard working band, we work hard to get things right. We want to sound amazing."
Ra says she enjoys the way she feels when giving energy to people through song.
Feels Soul Good will play originals and covers, with a set of mostly reggae music.
Guitarist and band leader Phyllis Wilson says the great thing about the Rotorua Summer Seafood Festival is that there is a variety of genres that will be on stage.
"Us playing reggae is just adding to the other eggs in the basket already."
The Rotorua Summer Seafood Festival will also feature cooking demonstrations, including ones by world-renowned Kiwi chef Robert Oliver, 2010 New Zealand Masterchef winner Brett McGregor and Rotorua's My Kitchen Rules contestants Natasha Whitewood and Hera Te Kurapa.
