Rotorua's Faustinah Ndlovu is on a mission to walk 21km balancing a 20 litre bucket of water on her head - to raise money for her former primary school in her homeland.
Ms Ndlovu grew up in a small Zimbabwean village where carrying water was an everyday task.
"Crossing paths with venomous snakes fetching water was my reality for 25 years in Zimbabwe were I was born and raised," she said on her Givealittle fundraising page.
"I started carrying 20 litres of water on my head when I was only 10 years old."
But the walk would be quite a challenge for her, as she had been in New Zealand for 14 years and even at home had never carried 20 litres of water that far, she said.
