The Kiwanis Club of Roto Whenua teddy bears' picnic was filled with fun and sun at the weekend, despite being previously postponed because of wet weather.
Fairy Springs dad Darren Best said he and his daughter Jayda, 8, had a fantastic time at the event in Kuirau Park yesterday.
"Jayda really enjoyed it ... we would definitely go back next year, and it was for a good cause too."
Mr Best said Jayda took along Fred, a soft toy dog, who was entered in one of the competitions and came away with a certificate.
Local Christina Delore took along her three children, Eva, 1, Isabelle, 4, and Michael 6, as well as Isabelle's friend, Pati Patel, 3.
She said it was the first time she had taken her family along, and it was the first outing Isabelle and Pati had gone on together, which they were "quite excited about".

"The kids enjoyed it. It was hot but we got there early-ish and got in the shade."
Mrs Delore said the kids liked the bouncy castle and the fun races.
Each of the children took along their favourite stuffed animals, which included a cat, rabbit and a teddy Michael has had since he was born, Mrs Delore said.
The Hits radio station MC'd the event.
Kat Hicks, brand engagement manager at The Hits said it was a great turnout, "especially considering it was the postponement day from last week."
Kiwanis Club of Roto Whenua secretary, Mark Franken, said the event, in its fourth year, went well.
Mr Franken said he didn't have time to do a head count but estimated about 200 people attended.
Many teddy bears were entered into the competitions, including one that was 67 years old.
"It was in pretty good nick."
Mr Franken said about 20 volunteers from Kiwanis Club of Roto Whenua, and their families, helped out on the day.
"We hope to see everyone back next year."
The proceeds raised from the day would go towards children in the Rotorua community but the charity had not yet been decided on, Mr Franken said.
