A family have escaped a fire in their Glenholme home tonight.
The Rotorua Fire Brigade was called to the fire on Phillip St about 9.15pm, where smoke could be seen coming from the roof of the brick unit. Two engines attended.
The homeowner told the Rotorua Daily Post he and his young daughter had been in bed and his wife was in the shower.
He said his wife came out of the shower to find the lights off and she could smell smoke.
His wife woke them and then called 111, and they went outside, he said.
