Parents and kids had a fun day celebrating the opening of the interactive children's exhibition Body in Action at Rotorua Museum.
"The kids had a really good time, and it was a good time for everyone," Rotorua Museum public programmes manager Naiomi Murgatroyd said.
The circus-themed family day on Saturday had hula hoop and "bokwa" (kids' fitness) sessions, Harold the Life Education's giraffe, face painting and spot prizes for those who went dressed in circus costumes.
"It is really nice to have those kinds of family events here, it's such a fun kind of buzz and vibe when the museum's got music playing and Harold the Life Education giraffe giving out stickers ... it is such a nice way to open an exhibition," she said.
The exhibition is expected to be popular over summer, Miss Murgatroyd said.
