There's so much talent in schools in Rotorua and across the region - and this past week there's been showcase after showcase to demonstrate it.

On Thursday and Friday students took part in this year's Stage Challenge, putting on performances that require a huge amount of passion and dedication.

Also on Friday, and requiring an equal amount of passion and dedication, was the Te Arawa Schools' Kapa Haka competition.

Congratulations to all the winners, and good on everyone involved for their amazing efforts.

And it's not too late to catch Rotorua Girls' and Boys' High Schools' production Seussical the Musical which opened on Monday.

It's incredible to think some of those involved could have only a few days ago been doing Stage Challenge and/or kapa haka as well.

Like the recent enjoyable John Paul College production All Shook Up - Seussical is great fun and a fine showcase of this city's young talent.
