Looks like I dipped out again on the national Reader's Digest Most Trusted List, the details of which were released yesterday.
And to make things worse, journalists are again one of the least trusted professions, sneaking in ahead of real estate agents, but not as trusted as lawyers and tow-truck drivers.
At least we have the likes of radio stars Kim Hill (No 16), Jim Mora (No 18) and Jay-Jay Feeney (12) holding the fort for the media near the top of the list.
And it's good to know the lads from Flight of the Conchords are so worthy of the nation's trust, taking places 6 and 8, well ahead of SAS hardman and Victoria Cross hero Willie Apiata (No 14).
Obviously folk parody singers, even the fourth most popular duo in the country, rank a lot higher than journalists.
But where are those who run the country?
The bottom eight Kiwis on the list of Most Trusted People, coming in below today's page 3 star Paul Henry (No 92), are politicians, with Hone Harawira at No 100.
Prime Minister John Key fares little better at No 90.
And these are the people we choose to put in power.
We're a funny old country sometimes.
